Mr. Robert Payaslyan, born and raised in Los Angeles, dedicates his time to serving the people of our community by applying his knowledge and passion for justice in his everyday work. Robert obtained his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the California State University of Los Angeles, where he was admitted to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi by ranking in the top ten percent of his class. Robert then received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of California, Irvine School of Law where he focused his studies on litigation and victims’ rights.
Before starting his legal career, Robert would give back to his community by volunteering for the Neighborhood Justice Program, a Los Angeles City organized program that provides first time non-violent misdemeanor offenders a chance to preserve their clean record and maintain their employment by engaging in restorative community justice panels. Due to his experience from externing for The Honorable Mark V. Mooney and The Honorable Anne H. Egerton of the Los Angeles County Superior Courts, Robert has become well versed with the practices of the local court system.
During law school, Robert became proficient in working with victims of crime and indigent individuals in need of legal representation. Robert was a Criminal Justice Clinical student where he aided his clients in clearing their records to gain and maintain fruitful employment and opportunities for citizenship. Discovering his passion, Robert spent over one year gaining in-court litigation experience with the Orange County and Los Angeles County District Attorney Offices. Robert has appeared in court and successfully argued over thirty cases, one in which he recovered money damages for the victim of a fraud crime. His expertise and vehemence make him a tough and sharp litigator who rigorously advocates for his clients’ rights.
